TECHNOLOGY

Technology-1

Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is a popular 3D printing technology that creates objects layer by layer using thermoplastic materials.

1. Material Feed: FFF printers use filament, which is a long strand of thermoplastic material, typically available in 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm diameters. Common materials include PLA, ABS, PETG, and TPU.

2. Heating Element: The filament is fed into a heated nozzle where it is melted. The temperature of the nozzle is carefully controlled to ensure the filament reaches its melting point without degrading.

3. Extrusion: Once melted, the filament is extruded through the nozzle onto the build platform in a precise pattern determined by the 3D model. The printer moves in both the X and Y axes to create the desired shape.

4. Layering: After each layer is printed, the build platform lowers (or the nozzle raises) by a specific height, typically between 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm, depending on the desired resolution. The next layer is then printed on top of the previous one, allowing for complex geometries and designs.

5. Cooling: As each layer is deposited, it cools and solidifies, bonding with the layers below it. Some printers have cooling fans to help speed up this process, especially for materials that require rapid cooling.
