TECHNOLOGY

FMD-Technology-Slide
Technology-1

Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is a popular 3D printing technology that creates objects layer by layer using thermoplastic materials.

1. Material Feed: FFF printers use filament, which is a long strand of thermoplastic material, typically available in 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm diameters. Common materials include PLA, ABS, PETG, and TPU.

2. Heating Element: The filament is fed into a heated nozzle where it is melted. The temperature of the nozzle is carefully controlled to ensure the filament reaches its melting point without degrading.

3. Extrusion: Once melted, the filament is extruded through the nozzle onto the build platform in a precise pattern determined by the 3D model. The printer moves in both the X and Y axes to create the desired shape.

4. Layering: After each layer is printed, the build platform lowers (or the nozzle raises) by a specific height, typically between 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm, depending on the desired resolution. The next layer is then printed on top of the previous one, allowing for complex geometries and designs.

5. Cooling: As each layer is deposited, it cools and solidifies, bonding with the layers below it. Some printers have cooling fans to help speed up this process, especially for materials that require rapid cooling.

MATERIALS

The Kings 3D FDM Printer 5060 is compatible with a variety of standard 1.75mm diameter 3D printing materials, including:

  • PLA: Renowned for its eco-friendly, non-toxic properties, PLA is easy to print with and ideal for prototypes and models.
  • TPU: A flexible material perfect for creating parts that require elasticity and resilience, such as phone cases and wearable items.
  • Carbon Fiber: Combined with other materials, carbon fiber enhances strength and durability, making it perfect for functional parts and high-stress applications.
  • ASA: Excellent for outdoor applications due to its UV-resistance; it maintains mechanical properties and color stability in harsh conditions.
  • ABS: A versatile material known for its strength and durability, making it suitable for a variety of engineering applications.
  • PETG: Offers a balance of strength and flexibility, great for both functional parts and visually appealing models.
  • Nylon: Known for its toughness, nylon is perfect for parts that require high strength and wear resistance.

Whether creating intricate designs, functional prototypes, or large-scale components, the Kings 3D FDM Printer 5060 is built to meet diverse printing requirements effectively.
