A 3.5 inch by 3.5 inch PEEK insulator with 1/16 inch thickness for the APSX-PIM molds.

It will be placed behind the mold and in front of the bronze nozzle plate by aligning the nozzle hole. It helps to stabilize the mold temperature. Spray glue or double sided tape (ShurTape) can be used as a temporary solution before mounting the mold on the machine.

As a permanent mounting, one can recessed bolt on the mold A side.

Standard Sample Mold for APSX-PIM

This pre-assembled aluminum mold is designed for producing standard small-scale plastic test samples. Engineered for seamless integration with the APSX-PIM machine, it includes all necessary mounting hardware for immediate operation.

  • Included Components: Pre-installed alignment pins & bushings, four (4) shoulder bolts, one (1) set of clamping claws

  • Note: Multiple mold orders include only one set of claws to be shared between frames

Installation & Alignment Procedure

  1. Mounting:

    • Secure the left side using the four provided shoulder bolts

    • Secure the right side using the included clamping claws

  2. Orientation: Ensure the top edge of the mold is flush with the top of Block 4 on the APSX-PIM

  3. Alignment Check:

    • Use manual control buttons to initiate clamping

    • HALT the machine once alignment is initiated

  4. Critical Safety Note: The pins and bushings are a tight, interference fit. They must be seated using the machine’s clamp force. Do not attempt to press them together by hand

  5. Finalize Installation: Complete the clamping cycle after proper alignment
