EASY OPERATION
Qetch 1000 provides maximum safety and flexibility for the user during the polishing & etching process by intuitive touchscreen control. Separation of polishing & etching unit from control unit enables operation within a lab fume cupboard.

POLISHING UNIT
The polishing head is integrated in the handle. Polishing and etching gets automatically ready by touching the piezo button in the handle. A multi-coloured LED on the handle indicates all program states. The operator can focus his attention completely to the checkpoint. The handle is connected to the unit by a flexible hose. For flat surfaces, the exchangeable sealing-lip ring is especially suitable. Complex surfaces (e.g. angled areas) can be examined by using an additional flexible end piece which can be cut to size individually. The pump’s adjustable performance allows an infinitely variable flow rate regulation of electrolyte

CONTROL PANEL
The LC-display clearly shows all important parameters like current, voltage, time as well as the charge of battery. All parameters can be adjusted via control panel during operation. You can choose between constant current and constant voltage.

BATTERY SUPPLIED OPERATION
The high capacity lithium battery allows with a single charge approximately 150 simple etching/polishing cycles including pre-grinding (state of charge display, charging and mains operation via external power
supply). Up to 30 examinations are possible by using the mobile grinder at the same time.

INNOVATIVE DETAILS
Micro motor, straight handle and accessories of our mobile grinder Qpol 30 can optionally be connected directly to the controlling unit of the Qetch 100 M (suitable storage area inside the case). The electrolyte tanks are replaceable and with screwed top for external storage. The integrated return-flow filter optimizes the life time of the electrolyte.

SAFETY FUNCTIONS
An additional locking valve allows the flow of the electrolyte only
during the cycle.

QPOL 300 BOT

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

Within the sturdy aluminium housing, it is possible to install 4 to 8 system work stations. Up to 11 different operations can be programmed and sequenced for a particular application. Options include pre-grinding, grinding and polishing as well as cleaning and drying in any combination.The Qpol 300BOT automatically proceeds from one step to the next, eliminating the manual, time-consuming task of cleaning each sample holder between steps. With its modular construction the Qpol 300BOT has a price-to-performance ratio that makes it a cost effective system even for lower volume labs.

GRINDING AND POLISHING STATIONS

The Qpol 300 BOT is constructed with stations for complete materialographic operations from planar grinding through intermediate steps and final polishing. All stations are integrated into the system. The grinding and polishing discs are fixed onto the working wheels by using a vacuum (Vacu-Jet System) or magnetic disc system. Each station can be configured for specific abrasive requirements. Water, diamond suspensions, diamond lubricant and oxide dispensing are fully integrated and controlled via programming. Grinding and polishing stations can also include fully automatic protective covers to maintain a clean work environment.

FEATURES

The sample holder racking system holds up to 12 sample holders. After starting the machine, the holders are taken out automatically for processing. After processing, the completed sample holders are returned to their original position with the polished surface facing upwards.

In the storage elevator, there are four compartments for disposable grinding discs, such as SiC paper. The vacuum exchange arm grips the pre-selected SiC paper and places it onto the wheel. The Vacu-Jet system then operates immediately, securing the disc to the plate automatically. When finished, the used grinding paper is discarded.

After final cleaning, a programmable warm air blower dries the samples with the polished side upwards. Then the dry samples are stored in the sample stack. The drying time is programmable.

The cleaning station enables a fully automatic cleaning of the sample. The multi-step cleaning is carried out with water, air and alcohol. Cleaning times and steps are completely adjustable as needed.

The high speed grinding station planes the surface of the sample very quickly using an abrasive stone. The fully enclosed stone has an integrated recirculation coolant system in the cabinet. SiC and Al2O3 grinding stones are kept flat by an automatic diamond dressing device with adjustable dressing depths and intervals.

The wearing surface of our standard grinding stone with glued carrier plate is 30 mm.

For diamond grinding disc applications, a cup-wheel with sample holder adaption is available for dressing the diamond surface in freely configurable intervals.

DATA TRANSFER

The QATM central lab is always looking for solutions for your problems. We can develop an optimum procedure for a particular sample and send it to you via data transfer. Acquired data can also be exchanged via an internal network. This enables reproducibility and comparison of procedures and parameters anywhere, anytime.

INDIVIDUALLY CONFIGURABLE

With the Qpol 300 bot, all preparation steps up to the analysis can be performed. It is individually configured so that maximum sample throughput can be achieved with minimum space requirements. To achieve this, we analyse and optimise all preparation steps for the specific application in advance and then configure the system to suit the specific application.

With a diameter of Ø = 308 mm the large bowl provides sufficient space for polishing of completely filled sample holders, large specimens, as well as for simultaneously polishing up to 21 specimens. Held by strong magnets the polishing bowl can be easily removed by pressing a button and exchanged by simply putting it back into the device – the magnetic forces will do their job.
The clamping ring protects the edge of the polishing cloth to ensure a long service life. In addition, the ring delimits the polishing area and enables the sample holders to move evenly. The bowl is designed for the use of polishing cloths on magnetic
systems. Consequently, the cloth is quickly and easily removed.

The Qpol Vibro offers silent operation based on its robust, high-quality design, innovative vibratory transmission angle, and vibrational motor with oscillation compensation. It may run for hours without any noticeable noise development.
The oscillation compensation of the vibrational motor prevents the vibrations from being transmitted to the machine case or bench, thus ensuring silent operation of the Qpol Vibro.
The exhaust connection plug may be connected to an external exhaust system to safely discharge moisture or gases, thus providing a safe working environment for the operator.
The transparent, soft-closing hinged hood shows the premium quality of QATM machines
and devices. It protects the suspension and specimens from contamination for achieving
best preparation results. The Qpol Vibro offers a wealth of features but is still compact and lightweight – with a weight of only 45 kg it is very suitable as a bench top device.

The innovative design of the Qpol Vibro software provides intuitive and user-friendly operation. 15 preparation methods for various materials are pre-installed, together with the appropriate consumables. The Qpol Vibro offers storage of up to 200 customized methods both on the device or on USB, allowing a transfer of methods from one device to another. These may be programmed without any restriction in duration or in vibration intensity. The device may be operated in manual or automatic mode.

The selectively choosable alert function (timer) informs the operator that a program has ended.

FEATURES

The basic requirements when developing the automatic grinder / polisher Qpol XL were a corpus and polishing head of utmost stability. A solid steel construction, powder-coated and a working area lined with stainless steel emphasize the sustainable, and at the same time modern and compact, machine design – made in Germany.

The QATM Qpol XL comes with a system for precise measurement of material removal – regardless of operating time, sample type, material and hardness, you can easily monitor the material height already removed.

The drive motor of the working wheel has a power of 2.2 kW and the polishing head of 1.1 kW. The speed of both systems can be operated in clockwise and counter clockwise direction as well as in oscillating movement.

In the cleaning station specimens are automatically cleaned with water, ethanol and air and by spin cycling at up to 800 rpm (adjustable). Thus, each preparation step is finalized with a cleaning step.

QATM offers a wide selection of standard sample holders with different diameters and for a variety of applications and machines. Clamping of samples with unusual dimensions can be realized with special sample holders.

The fully loaded motorized swivelling dosing arm provides uniform wetting of the working wheel. It offers automatic referencing, automatic nozzle rinsing as well as good accessibility to the dosing hoses.

The motorized acryl glass safety hood protects the working area of the machine. The transparent hood is equipped with a safety switch and opens automatically when the program is finished. For easy cleaning the hood can simply be unhinged.

The cleverly integrated dosing system accommodates up to 6 Qdoser Duran glass bottles (1L). When equipping the Qpol XL with “Preparation Dosing System”, the suspension containers can be retrofitted in packages of 2, preparing your Qpol for all future requirements. Integrated spiral rinsing hose with ball valve allows for manual cleaning of the working area.

The dosing system can be equipped with a magnetic stirrer. The automated stirring ensures optimum distribution of abrasive particles contained in the suspension before usage. This homogenization process significantly improves the preparation result. The new level detection for suspensions gives a warning before the container is empty, which is refillable in the ongoing process.

The spin cycle function „Cleaning Boost” is integrated into the software and spins the residual liquid off the grinding/polishing medium at the end of the preparation process with max. rpm for 3 seconds.

The optional signal lamp allows monitoring of your Qgrind XL from a distance: The red/yellow/green lights show the current state of the machine at a glance.

WATER
The automatically switched integrated basin rinsing is cooling the working wheel and cleaning the basin during the entire working process. The rinsing tap can be pulled out with the hose extension. Optimum distribution of water can be reached by swinging the tap left and right across the diameter of the working wheel.

FEATURES

The ECO grinding & polishing head with adjustable swivelling limits is equipped with recessed grips on both sides and integrated buttons for easy swivelling and adjustment. A large gap between the working surface and the polishing head ensures convenient changing of the sample holder.
